1997年に放送されセンセーションを巻き起こしたアニメ「少女革命ウテナ」が放送20周年を記念して2018年3月にミュージカル化することが決定！ 「少女革命ウテナ」は 1997 年に放送、王子様に憧れる男装の少女・天上ウテナが『薔薇の花嫁』と呼ばれる少女・姫宮アンシーと出会うことから＜世界を革命する力＞を手に入れるための闘いに巻き込まれていく物語。 少女たちが抱える心の闇やコンプレックスを哲学的な言葉と独創的な切り口で描き、同年代の少女たちに大きな衝撃を与えた。 ミュージカル「少女革命ウテナ〜白き薔薇のつぼみ〜」ではウテナがアンシーと出会い、 桐生冬芽や西園寺莢一など生徒会メンバーと『薔薇の花嫁』を奪い合う決闘を描きます。 脚本・演出は舞台「男水！」やミュージカル「ヘタリア〜In the newworld〜」などを手掛けた気鋭の演出家・吉谷光太郎が担当。 さらにミュージカル化にあたり、スーパーバイザーに「少女革命ウテナ」の生みの親である幾原邦彦監督が参加することが決定！ (C)ビーパパス・さいとうちほ／小学館・少革委員会・テレビ東京(C)ミュージカル「少女革命ウテナ」製作委員会
