NAXOSが誇る『映画音楽集』の中から、モンスターにまつわる音楽を収録したアルバムの6枚セットです。
無声映画の頃は、お話を盛り上げるのは全て音楽でした。背後から何かが忍び寄ってくるシーン、まさに怪物に襲われるシーン、その時々にふさわしい迫力満点の音楽が奏されていたのです。このセットには、アレンジャー、J.モーガンが当時のスコアを洗い出し（もしくは記録された音楽を再現）、リライトして、その音楽をより一層迫力あるものに仕上げているものを中心に収録。また、CD4にはポーランドの純クラシックの作曲家としても知られるキラールの作品集が含まれています。ドラキュラに付けられた悲劇的な音楽は一度聴いたら忘れることのできない魅力を放っています。（NAXOS）
